Backgammon dice roll in favour of final four

The dice rolled favourably for Saji Brazi, Nadal Ahmed, Lewis Zako and Nabeel Khaleel as they remained in contention for the Dh95,000 prize money in the inaugural UAE International backgammon tournament here.

The four won through to top their respective groups and booked a place in the final round. The winner will gain Dh50,000 with the next three getting Dh30,000, Dh10,000 and Dh5,000 respectively.

Brazi, Ahmed, Zako and Khaleel have all now qualified for the International tournament, which will be held in March 2001. The four-day tournament is being organised by the Abu Dhabi Health and Fitness Club under the patronage of Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Over 80 players from 18 different nationalities were in the fray. Two players will be winning a car each after a draw restricted only to players.
