Baby girl is family's sole survivor of fiery crash

An 11-month-old baby girl was the sole survivor of a family involved in a car crash on Rashidiya road while travelling towards Sharjah. Her parents and nine-year-old brother died at the scene from severe burns and internal injuries. The accident was allegedly due to the father's negligence at the wheel.

The family's Jeep Wrangler crashed into an oncoming Chevrolet Lumina. The Lumina's driver, a 21-year-old national, died of injuries. His 24-year-old co-passenger, another national, is in the intensive care unit of Rashid Hospital and doctors hold out little hope that he will survive. The baby's condition is said to be stable.
