Dubai: An Asian male expat, aged between 30-40 years old, has won the biggest prize of Dh50 million in the Middle East region from Mahzooz, Farid Samji, CEO of Ewings LLC, operator of Mahzooz, announced on Sunday.

The live draw was held on Saturday and the winning numbers are 6-11-21-32-33-46.

Mahzooz has also announced a new game design to make winning easier, according to Samji.

Who's the winner?

The winner's identity will be revealed soon, Samji said, adding: "We’ve already spoken to the winner. We want to ensure all the formalities are done in line with the rules of the land, the UAE. In the next few days, we’ll bring out the identity of the person. Remember, we have a responsibility towards the winner also."

“We are so thrilled and excited for the Dh50 million grand prize winner. This is by far the biggest prize money to have been won in the UAE and GCC region. We have been eagerly waiting for someone to take home the grand prize and we’re extremely happy that luck has favoured someone after 48 draws,” he continued.

More prizes

Six more winners shared the second-tier prize, which was doubled to Dh2 million after it went unclaimed in the 47th draw. Each second prize winner took home Dh333,333. The total prize money won on Saturday was Dh52,305,960, including minor prizes.

New game design

The next Mahzooz draw happening on Saturday, October 30, will see the introduction of a brand-new game design, including a raffle draw with three guaranteed weekly winners.

The new grand draw will now require participants to select only five out of 49 numbers for a chance to win the top prize of Dh10 million. Moreover, all participants will be automatically entered into the brand-new weekly raffle draw of Dh300,000 where three guaranteed winners will take home Dh100,000 each.

Every participant who buys a bottle of water for Dh35 will now be eligible to win prizes in both the grand draw and the raffle draw. “This revision of the game structure is designed to increase the odds of winning and to make it easier for our participants to win great prizes. Our customers now need to match only five out of five numbers to win the top prize of Dh10 million. The second prize remains unchanged at Dh1 million but participants only have to match four out of five numbers now. The first and second prizes will be divided amongst their winners. The third prize (matching three out of five numbers) is now Dh350,” said Samji.

He added: “The introduction of the Dh300,000 raffle draw comes in line with Mahzooz’s consumer-centric strategy to help more participants realise their dreams as it will have three guaranteed winners every single week, who will each take home Dh100,000.”

More chances of winning

Samji said: "We conducted a survey which revealed that our customers were eager for someone to bag the grand prize. They also asked us to make it easier to win the Grand Prize as well as increase the value of the minimum winning amount. Through this new game design, we aim to fulfil our customers’ demands for more chances of winning and more winners."
