Spread over 360 square metres, the indoor Aqua Park at the Airport Expo offers children a choice of 12 water entertainment zones.
Aqua Park has become the natural choice for kids wanting to spend the summer in water, and the attention to detail and safety ensures that parents can rest assured that their children will have a thoroughly enjoyable and safe day out.
"When we decided to create Aqua Park, we undertook a lot of research into the project. We looked at various global water theme parks and studied what they had to offer in terms of facilities and entertainment value," said Mohammed Al Qasim, the project supervisor.
Among the 12 entertainment areas, children can enjoy thrills like the huge swimming pool along with its exciting slides and the two pools specially created for paddle boats.
Others can have fun racing remote-controlled boats in a unique water race course and animal lovers can enjoy the pool for ducks as well as aquariums while glass-walled pools let kids watch all that is going on under water.
"Aqua Park incorporates the highest standards of technology and safety. Water quality in the pools is frequently checked and we have electric filters to ensure that proper levels of hygiene are maintained," said Al Qasim.
"All areas of the Aqua Park are properly supervised to ensure that every child has a happy and unforgettable visit."
A trip to the Aqua Park also includes an educational flavour, as a model of the famous Titanic sits at the entrance and tells of the tragic night in 1912 when the ship sank.
Outside Aqua Park there is also the Dh5 submarine trip that takes children on a simulated journey to the bottom of the sea. Kids can look through the portholes of the submarine and gaze at models of sea creatures passing by including sharks, octopuses, whales, and a mermaid.
Visitors to Aqua Park also have the chance to win a brand-new mobile phone in a daily raffle held at the venue. Two mobile phones are given away as prizes at the end of the day and the promotion will run until August 30.
Aqua Park is open from 10 am to 10 pm weekdays, and 3 pm to 10 pm on Fridays.
It is located at the Airport Expo's west hall, opposite to Modhesh Fun City, which is at the east hall. Entrance fee is Dh10 per person.
