Ambulance Crew Ready To Hit Dubai

A crew of four shiny, new ambulances and eight Advanced Life Support paramedics will take to the Dubai streets today in a new initiative by the Welcare Hospital.

The service, which is unique to the private health-care sector of Dubai, includes a 24-hour call centre with dispatchers trained to follow American emergency protocol services.

The vehicles are equipped with state-of-the art technology.

"There is nothing else like it in Dubai," said Terry Allen, Operations Manager – Ambulance Services, Welcare Hospital.

"All of our equipment is the latest technology that is available, with the latest transport ventilators, infusion pumps and monitors. Everything that exists in an ICU [intensive care unit] is duplicated in the back of our ambulances".
