Sabah Fakhri, one of the foremost master vocalists of the Arab world, will be performing a one-night show at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel on April 30.

The Syrian born singer has agreed to stage a one-night performance and has promised a wealth of Arabic music.

"The event follows the wishes of Arab nationals residing in Dubai who enjoy genuine Arabic singing.

"The Syrian community, in particular, and other Arab communities, in general, will savour Fakhri's unique talent," said event organiser Talal Al Barazi of Palmyra Production and Publishing.

Fakhri's most recent performance was before Arab leaders and diplomats who attended the Arab League Summit in Algeria. His last performance in Dubai was three years ago.

"The one-night show promises to be an outstanding and unforgettable night for Arabic music lovers in the UAE. This legendary artiste will continue to be the holder of the authentic melody.

"Only Fakhri, through his long journey with his art that has extended for half a century, can attract new audiences every day," Al Barazi said.

Born in Aleppo in 1933, Fakhri's talent was recognised early. He was barely 10 when he began performing at evening concerts with leading professionals of the time.

Music experts and producers believe Fakhri is the ambassador of the Arabic song.
