Al Ain: Al Ain Wildlife Park and Resort (AWPR) has extended its night-time opening hours to 2am, allowing families to enjoy evening outings during Ramadan.

The extended hours will also enable families to spend their evenings learning about nature and conservation in the cooler temperatures, said a park official. The new timings are from 9pm to 2am.

One of the zoo's most attractive features — the bird show — will start at 10.30pm daily as per the new timings. On Thursdays and Fridays an additional bird show will take place at 12.30am, he said.

At the park entrance, the AWPR's expert animal keepers will showcase different species of turtles, snakes, and birds, including parrots, owls, falcons and eagles between 9.30pm and 11.15pm. This will, said the official, help the visitors get closer to nature from the moment they step into the park. All the exhibits will be open throughout the evening including the mixed African and Arabian exhibits that house giraffes, rhinoceroses, gazelles and oryx.

The feeding of various animals is scheduled throughout the evening.
