The Al Ain Under 17 juniors soccer team started their campaign in the GCC league winners championship, currently organised in Doha by the Qatar club Al Sad, with a 5–1 victory over Al Qadiseya from Kuwait.

Rashid Al Darmaki and his colleague Masood Yousuf Habeeb scored for the winners before the break.

Omer Humaid, Masood Yousuf and Omer Abdullah added three more goals in the second half whereas Hussain Khadim netted Al Qadiseya team's solitary goal off a penalty.

The match was marred by bad conduct display that forced the Saudi referee Abdul Mohsin to flash his yellow card five times. He also gave marching orders to Mohammed Saleh from Al Ain and Hamad Naef of the Kuwaiti outfit.

In the second match of the day Al Suwaiq of Sultanate of Oman opened their account with a deserved win over Al Ahli of Bahrain. The event, inaugurated on Wednesday at Jasim Bin Hamad stadium, witnessed one game in the opening day between hosts Al Sad and defending champions Saudi Arabia's Al Shabab.

The Saudis beat their opponents 2-0 after taking full command of the game.

Hussain Moaz opened the score only 17 minutes into play to end the first session with a 1-0 lead.

His teammate Saad Motlaq assured his team's win when he netted the second goal 8 minutes from time. The performance of the duo squads was below par as the players were affected by the high humidity.

The winners played the opening match missing three of their key players who arrived to Doha hours prior to the kick off of the game.

They are likely to take part in the rest of the following matches. The hosts also played the game without a number of their best players who are on national duty with the Qatar youngsters and juniors teams currently camping abroad.

Al Shabab are to play their second game today when they take on Al Suwaiq from Oman while Alain are to meet hosts Al sad.

The Al Ain senior team currently conducting a warm up camp in Germany lost their friendly game 2-3 to Nortburg club on Thursday.

Mohammed Omer scored Al Ain's duo goals. It was the third meet played by the UAE league champions for the last season during their 24-day external camp held in Austria and Germany.

In Salisburg they beat Stevar Barvin 6–0 in the lone game they played in Austria, but they were held to a 1–1 draw by the Libyan National team in Nortburg in Germany.

Al Ain are likely to play their concluding friendly tie tomorrow against one of the German first division teams. The team's mission is due to return back home on Wednesday this week.
