In the second match, Al Suwaiq from Oman surprised the defending champions Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia 3-2 in the opening game of the same day. Both winners have collected six points so far, but Al Ain juniors are on top of the standings on goal difference.
Shihab Ahmad, Al Ain's ace player, opened the score seconds before the break. But Ali Nasir brought the match to parity when he scored the equaliser 11 minutes after the interval.
Both outfits played a neck-to-neck game but the winners had the upper hand in most of the departments of the second session.
Their efforts soon paid dividends when the frontliner and UAE junior national team's best player Ahmad Eid netted the winner 26 minutes after the breather.
Yasir Khamis, Naef Al Sady and the substitute Saad Obaid scored for the winners, Oman, while Ahmad Mohammed and Abdullah Jamaan netted Al Shabab's goals.
The Saudis have three points so far following their 2-0 victory over hosts Al Sad in the opening match.
Al Suwaiq will take on Al Sad in the second match of today's programme. The Omani side have six points whereas their opponents Al Sad are yet to open their score.
The Al Ain juniors are to play a decisive game this evening when they take on Al Shabab. It is very importance for both sides.
Al Ain are planning to take their tally to nine points in order to increase their chances of winning the championship while the Saudis will fight hard to compensate for their sudden defeat.
Al Shabab have three points. Winning today's game will help them revive their hopes and come back in the competition.
