Al Ain collected their first three points in the FA Cup following their 1-0 win over the visiting team Al Khaleej from Khor Fakkan at Qattara stadium yesterday.

Salim Muftah, who transferred to Al Ain from Al Wasl this season, scored the all important goal for the winners in the 71st minute when he headed brilliantly off a cross from Juma'a Khatir.

Al Ain beat Al Ahli in the opening match here on Thursday, but their victory was nullified by the tournament's committee due to an administrative fault as they had fielded an unregistered player.

Al Ain and Al Khaleej demonstrated a poor display. Al Ain used the flanks for their attacks, but the rival defence were rock solid.

Al Khaleej relied heavily on counter attacks and they came close to open the score in the 25th minute when Ali Khalil sent a powerful shot that rebounded off the crossbar. However, his teammate, Hani Saeed, failed to connect to tap the rebound net into a gaping goal.

Al Ain squandered the first sitter in the 14 minutes when Faisal Ali's perfect header ricocheted off goalkeeper Jabir Jasim at the the feet of Joel Tiehi, but he failed to connect it.
