The recently created Ajman Sewerage Co, which is implementing a Dh515 million sewerage treatment system in the emirate, has unveiled its new logo and corporate identity.

A partnership between the government of Ajman and two leading wastewater businesses, Thames Water and Black & Veatch, has created the new concession company that was established by the announcement of the first ever Sewer Law for Ajman in May.

The new logo designed by UAE-based agency Bates Pangulf, blends the desert heritage of Ajman with a wave motif to reinforce both the essence of the project and coastal location of Ajman.

The green and blue colours selected for the logo reflect the significant environmental benefits the project will bring to the people of Ajman.

Ajman Sewerage Co general manager, Kelvin Moon, said: "We have created a simple but effective image for the new company that local residents in Ajman can identify with.

"As the project continues to grow over the coming years, it will become a familiar symbol for one of the biggest ever construction projects created for the emirate of Ajman and its people.

"The new identity will be applied to all company communication materials and construction notice boards over the coming weeks and months.

"The first use of the logo has been on the registration application form that is now being distributed to property owners in Ajman to allow them to register and benefit from the new modern sewerage system.

"This is part of the biggest census and registration exercise ever undertaken in Ajman where we are seeking to identify the ownership of every building in the emirate."

Under the regulations of the Sewer Law recently enacted by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, every property owner must register his or her property by submitting a registration form to the Ajman Sewerage Co and later pay a compulsory connection fee.

The sewerage modernisation programme will involve the building of state-of-the-art sewerage treatment plant in Ajman, more than twenty individual pumping stations and laying over 250 kilometres of pipelines to connect the properties to the system.

It will take an estimated four years to complete the project and the treatment plant, which is expected to open in 2005.
