Ajman: His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has ordered the release of 225 inmates from correctional and punitive facilities in the emirate ahead of Eid Al Adha.

The inmates, of various nationalities, were chosen based on their good conduct and behaviour. The gesture reflects the Ajman ruler’s commitment to offering prisoners a fresh start and bringing joy to their families.

Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, expressed his gratitude to the ruler of Ajman, expressing hope that the pardon will allow the released inmates to reunite with their families and reintegrate positively into society.

He added that procedures for their release will begin immediately.

Yesterday, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered the release of 963 prisoners from correctional institutions on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

Sheikh Mohamed also pledged to cover all fines imposed on the inmates, who had been sentenced for a variety of offences.

Meanwhile, in his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, ordered the release of 985 inmates.

In Ras Al Khaimah, 411 prisoners will be released, whereas 112 prisoners will be released in Fujairah.
