Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi international artists, designers, art dealers, curators, collectors, critics and art lovers are not the only things that visitors to the inaugural Abu Dhabi Art festival that is taking place from November 19-22 at the Emirates Palace Hotel.
There will also be several exhibitions by internationally and regionally renowned artists, as well as several fascinating programmes and events that will highlight and showcase the art world's rich diversity.
"Abu Dhabi Art is an integral part of the Emirate's long-term cultural vision of becoming an international hub for arts and culture," said Shaikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) and Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (Adach).
"By bringing together a wealth of modern and contemporary art exhibitions, design events, engaging live programmes and more, drawn from our own region and from around the world, Abu Dhabi Art creates a modern-day equivalent of the cultural and intellectual exchanges of the ancient Silk Road," he added.
Among the highlights of the four-day art festival is an evening-long event taking place tonight titled ‘Abu Dhabi Art, Talks and Sensations: The Wings Party'. Artists, musicians, designers, actors, poets and thinkers from around the world will be participating in an experimental mixture of performances, discussions, slide shows, film screenings, dining and dancing.
