Young designers launch fashion label with a successful show in aid of Dubai Autism Centre
The Barajeel ballroom at The Fairmont Dubai was the modernistic setting for the launch of the debut collection of Affascinare, a fashion label created by Dubai-based designers Shilpa Lahori and Riddhima Mankani.
The fashion show held on Friday also featured the latest collection from Personal Effects, a Mumbai boutique run by designers Indira Mankani and Meghna Mehta.
The attention to detail paid by the debutante fashion designers was evident from the beautifully designed invitation cards in unusual jute envelopes and little touches like the table runners emblazoned with the Affascinare logo.
Another thoughtful gesture that won Shilpa and Riddhima much support was their decision to use their first show as a platform for creating awareness of autism and to donate the proceeds to the Dubai Autism Centre.
