Some 74 UAE national teachers have been appointed at government schools in the Fujairah Educational Zone even as more expatriates are being recruited for the new academic year.
Juma Khalfan Al Kindi, the newly-appointed Acting Director of the Fujairah Educational Zone, told a press conference yesterday a large number of teachers have been appointed and there will be no shortage.
Al Kindi said: "Most pupils, between 22,000 to 24,000, are expected to start classes in government schools on August 31, except for third secondary students who are expected to begin on September 7." All schools will receive textbooks on the first day of the new academic year.
"We appreciate the efforts of the Fujairah Office of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing in carrying out maintenance in 11 schools in addition to houses of resident women teachers."
Three government elementary schools have been selected to have a women only teaching and administrative staff. They are: Asem bin Thabet Elementary School in Fujairah, Al Numan bin Miqren Elementary School in Al Qurayyah village and Al Muthanna bin Haritha in Murbeh.
The zone has also replaced two old schools with new ones. One is Sakumkum Elementary School and the other a secondary school in Al Tawiyeen area.
