Dubai: The UAE Tour Women 2025 benefited from comprehensive security measures, with 128 police patrols deployed to safeguard the event in Dubai. This included 18 female patrol units, who maintained a strong presence, particularly along the 7-km stretch designated for closure.

Brigadier General Jumaa Suwaidan, Chairman of the Security Committee at Dubai Police, told Gulf News that the tour, which spans a total of 149 km from Dubai Police Officers Club to Dubai Harbour, had been carefully planned in close coordination with various authorities to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.

The security effort involved 110 police patrol units and 130 traffic officers, tasked with managing road closures, maintaining safety, and responding to any emergencies that may arise during the race. Special attention was given to securing the cyclists’ path, creating a safe and controlled environment for competitors.

This year, the UAE Tour Women also marks a significant milestone with the enhanced involvement of female military personnel. A total of 18 female patrol units are stationed throughout the event, with a particularly strong presence along the crucial 7km section.

The UAE Security Committee said that all necessary precautions had been taken to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely, prioritising the well-being of both participants and spectators. A coordination meeting held at the SWAT training field on Tuesday saw key representatives from Dubai Police, Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Ambulance, and other relevant bodies come together to finalise the security plan.

The plan aimed to establish a unified security presence along the race route, with each participating organisation overseeing their specific area of responsibility.

Brigadier Suwaidan emphasised that all relevant authorities were fully prepared for the logistics of the event.

Notably, airport security was briefed on the race schedule, with instructions given to ticket holders to use alternative routes to avoid traffic disruptions. Special provisions had also been made for patients with appointments in hospitals or clinics, ensuring that they could either reschedule or be directed through alternate routes to maintain traffic flow.

In a bid to ensure public safety, schools in the affected areas will work closely with local authorities to release students at appropriate times. The UAE tourism authorities have also been briefed, so visitors are aware of potential traffic changes.

Dubai Police urged road users to follow traffic instructions, adhere to safety guidelines, and stay informed via social media channels to ensure smooth traffic flow during the event.

The UAE Women’s Tour 2025 kicked off on Thursday, covering 149 kilometers from the Dubai Police Officers Club to Dubai Harbour. The race commenced at 12.45pm with the final stage concluding at 4.40pm.

The second stage on Friday, February 7, will take place in the Al Dhafra Region, spanning 111 kilometers from Al Dhafra Fort to Al Mirfa.

On Saturday, February 8, the third stage, a mountain segment, will cover 152 kilometers in Al Ain, beginning at Qasr Al Muwaiji and reaching the summit of Jebel Hafeet.

The tour will conclude in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, February 9, covering 128 kilometers from the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy to the Abu Dhabi Corniche breakwater, passing by some of the UAE capital’s most iconic landmarks.
