Dubai: At least 13 workers were injured when a minibus rammed into tree on Zabeel Road on Saturday, Dubai Police said.
The accident was reported on Saturday morning as Dubai Police received an emergency call at 5:38 am that a minibus carrying workers crashed into a tree.
Search and Rescue patrols and ambulance arrived at the scene. Police said that the minibus driver lost control of the vehicle, which swerved on the road and hit the tree.
Eight workers sustained serious injuries while five others sustained moderate to minor injuries.
The rescue team had to use hydraulic equipment to cut the vehicle in order to free workers trapped inside the minibus. The injured were taken to Rashid Hospital.
Brigadier Mohammed Nasser Al Razooqi, Director of Transport and Rescue Department and Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Atiq Burqibah, Deputy Director of the Search and Rescue Department at Dubai Police supervised the rescue operation.
