Sharjah: Two men were killed in two separate road accidents in Sharjah on Friday, police said on Saturday.

In the first accident, a Syrian driver died in a two-truck crash on Emirates Road on Friday.

The police operations room received a call in the evening about the accident involving the two trucks which caught fire due to the strong impact of the collision.

One driver was killed on the spot and his body was moved to a hospital morgue.

The police said not paying attention to the road and not leaving sufficient distance between the trucks caused the accident.

In the second accident, a 20-year-old Emirati man died and his 18-year-old brother sustained injuries after their car was hit by another car on Maliha Road on Friday night.

The victim, identified as M.S., was pronounced dead on the spot.

The body of the deceased was moved to Al Dhaid Hospital while the motorist who caused the accident has been taken into police custody for questioning.
