Abu Dhabi: A major water leak at Raha International School in the capital forced the school to close early on Sunday.

According to an email sent to parents, the private school, which offers the International Baccalaureate curriculum, closed at about midday because the school did not have enough water in its tanks for sanitation purposes. The note said that the school had become aware of the water leak at 4am, but the issue took longer than expected to resolve. As a result, the school was closed on health and safety grounds, and most students left the premises in Khalifa City within an hour.

A message sent to parents said the school would open as usual on Monday.
