Dubai: Forecasters are expecting dusty conditions, rise in humidity levels and chances of rain in parts of the country this week.

Hazy conditions will persist in the country as winds will kick up dust, especially in exposed areas in the UAE until Saturday. Residents with respiratory conditions are advised to take precautions and stay indoors as much as possible.

Visibility dropped to 2,000km until 2pm on Tuesday due to dust blown by fresh southeasterly winds, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said.

On Wednesday, southeasterly to northeasterly and northerly winds, with speeds of 20km/h to 32km/h, with gusts of 38km/h, may cause dusty conditions during daytime. Similar conditions are expected on Thursday and Friday.

Humidity levels will increase in Fujairah, reaching 93 per cent on Thursday.

Mist might form in the morning, especially towards the western parts of the country. Fog or mist might form on Friday.

Maximum temperature in Dubai will drop by one degree from 44C to 43C on Thursday. Abu Dhabi will see a three-degree drop from Tuesday of 46C to 43C on Thursday.

Convective clouds will appear eastward from Wednesday that might bring rain in the afternoons of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Conditions in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will be moderate on Wednesday until Friday, with the Arabian Gulf becoming slight to moderate on Saturday.
