Dubai: The weather in the UAE has become significantly colder with minimum temperatures now down to as low as 10 degrees Celsius, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).

The NCMS on Monday recorded 10.3 °C at Mebreh Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah, 11.2 °C at Jais Mountain, 16.5 °C at Raknah, 16.9 °C at Jebel Hafeet and 17.1 °C at Damtha.

Forecasters at the NCMS expect clouds to form over the northern and eastern areas, with another gradual fall in temperatures.

Strong northwesterly winds will continue to blow dust across the UAE, from 16km/h to 32km/h in coastal areas, that may reach as high as 40km/h at times.

In its daily weather forecast, the NCMS said that the minimum temperature will be 18-23 degrees Celsius in coastal areas, 16-21 in internal areas, and a low of 13-17 degrees Celsius in the mountain area.

Waves are also expected to be very rough in the Arabian Gulf and Oman sea.
