Parking will be free for two hours between 6pm and 8pm during Ramadan, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Tuesday.

The paid parking hours across all the zones in Dubai, except Tecom, have been split into two sessions, starting from 8am to 6pm. The second session begins from 8pm and ends at 12 midnight. In Tecom, the parking tariff will apply from 8am to 6pm, while the multi-level parking buildings will be operational 24/7.

The RTA also announced changes to the working hours of its customer care centres as well as its various services, with its Umm Al Ramool Centre operating From 9am to 2pm, from Sunday to Thursday, Al Tawar, Al Awir, Al Manara, Deira, Al Barsha and Al Kafaf Centres will work from 9am to 5pm.

Unlike other services, with reduced working hours, Public buses in Dubai will operate for extended hours during the entire month.

However, Dubai Metro and Dubai tram will operate without any change to its timings for both weekdays and weekends.

RTA’s marine services will also operate with slight change in timings, its vehicle registration and testing centres will working a double shift with some centres operating as late as 3am.

GDRFA

Meanwhile, all offices of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners’ Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) will operate from 8am to 5pm during Ramadan and only two branches will have a night shift, from 10pm to midnight.

The GDRFA-Dubai head offices in Jafiliya and its external centres will work from 9am to 6pm, with employees working in alternating shifts.

However, there will be no change in the working hours of the GDRFA centre at Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport, remaining open for 24 hours, seven days a week and will receive all types of applications.
