Ras Al Khaimah: Motorists in Ras Al Khaimah can now apply online to renew their driving licences and replace the lost and damaged ones.

Ras Al Khaimah Police announced on Sunday that it would stop renewal of driving licences at the licensing service centres starting from June 24.

Colonel Adel Ali Al Ghais, director of the vehicle and drivers’ licensing department at RAK Police, said that the motorists can log on to the Ministry of Interior’s website www.moi.gov.ae to renew their driving licences.

The initiative aims to facilitate services to customers and enable them to complete their transactions through smart applications without visiting the traffic and licensing department.

The ministry of interior’s application can also be downloaded on mobile phones.

Motorists will receive an electronic registration on the mobile phone and then courier company will deliver the licence within 48 hours of receipt of the request.

Colonel Al Ghais said more eye testing centres, mandatory for renewal of driving licences, have been accredited to give customers more options.

Motorists can now have their eyes tested Al Jaber Optical Centre, RAK Hospital, Specialist Medical Centre, Sameer Optical, Belhasa Drivers Training Centre, apart from the RAK Police licensing department.
