Abu Dhabi: As many as 11,434 motorists were fined in Abu Dhabi during the first quarter of the year for speeding, police said on Monday.

Police said that speeding at intersections is the main reason for accidents. When motorists approach the signal which is about to change to red, they increase the speed to cross it in a hurry, the police said.
