Dubai: A taxi driver was honoured for assisting a woman whose car broke down last week in Dubai Internet City.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), gave a certificate of appreciation to Raheem Abdul Haq, a Bangladeshi driver employed by Metro Taxi Company.
Al Tayer commended the humanitarian principles taken by Abdul Haq, 38, which reflect the culture that the RTA seeks to instill in its employees.
“Such an attitude boosts the confidence of customers, among residents and visitors, of Dubai’s public services,” said Al Tayer.
“The RTA is keen on rewarding cab drivers that excel in their daily performance, safe driving, and compliance with the rules and regulations charted by the RTA. A great deal of emphasis is also placed on their dedication to the job.
“This award will motivate fellow taxi drivers in the RTA and its franchise companies to make more of a conscious efforts towards realising the happiness of taxi customers in Dubai,” added Al Tayer.
