Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has awarded a contract for constructing access points to the Culture Village from Shaikh Rashid Street, costing Dh14.87 million, in collaboration with Dubai Properties Group.

Maitha Mohammad Bin Adai, CEO of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, said: “The project aims to link the Culture Village with the surrounding roads network at Al Jaddaf through providing additional entry and exit points in the area. The project is intended to enhance the safety of road users, and ease the traffic congestion on Al Khail Road where the area is witnessing a significant rise in the number of heavy vehicles coupled with growing infrastructural works of projects and buildings in the surrounds.”

She added: “A one-lane entry and exit point will be constructed at Shaikh Rashid Street before Al Garhoud Bridge in the direction of Deira. Project works include lighting as well as shifting and protecting the existing utility lines. The project is set for completion during the first quarter of next year. It is part of a host of projects planned and endorsed for easing the traffic flow in line with the RTA’s strategic objectives and goals.”
