Dubai: Dubai Municipality has appealed to all the owners of the winter camps in Al Aweer to remove their tents by May 7.
Layali Abdulrahman Al Mulla, Director, Buildings Department, issued this order since the winter camping season is ending on April 30, the municipality said in a press release on Thursday.
The official advised the camp owners to visit the Municipality to get refund of their insurance amounts.
The Buildings Department had issued 250 permits for temporary winter camps in Al Aweer-1 area this season as they met the safety and building requirements for issuing permits.
The department had received applications for setting up of winter camps from the beginning of November 2017 until the end of March this year.
Al Mulla appealed to the public to contact the toll free number 800900 for any comments or suggestions regarding the winter camps.
She also thanked the Dubai Police, the Roads and Transport Authority, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, the Civil Defence and Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services for their support during this season.
Saeed Bin Humaidan Al Falasi, head of the Temporary Winter Camps Team and Head of the Buildings Inspection Section said this season had been one of the most successful ones in terms of security and safety for the visitors of the camping area.
He said the direct and continuous coordination with Dubai Police had helped prevent any untoward happenings in the camping area.
He added that the awareness campaign carried out by the Civil Defence for the participants of the temporary winter camps for four days at the end of December had been effective, and there had been no fires in the camping area.
