Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday honoured universities, colleges, institutes and schools that won the sixth Think Science contest at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The Think Science contest is organised yearly by Emirates Foundation to motivate young people to be innovative and to excel in various scientific and technological fields.

The winners included Al Khaleej National School; Applied Technology High School - Abu Dhabi; Dubai International School; Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research; and Higher Colleges of Technology in Fujairah and Ruwais.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, and Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Foundation for Youth Development, were present at the ceremony.

“The UAE under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan pays utmost attention to the youth’s progress towards innovation and creativity, and taking our country into new heights at all levels,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

He congratulated the winners of the contest, which he described as an opportunity to foster skills and potential and motivate them to innovate in all scientific and technological fields.

He also praised the follow-up efforts being exerted by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed, stressing his trust in the ability and leadership of the young minister.

“Our most precious fortune is our youth. This fortune will remain inexhaustible as long as there are patriotic Emirati mothers”, Shaikh Mohammad concluded.
