This calls for a serious Arab, regional and international stand to face this threat, that targets everyone without exception,” Shaikh Mohammad added.

He continued, “The UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, stands firmly with Egypt in its war against terrorism, which will not be able to stop or disrupt its vision of achieving development and progress, and the well-being of its people.”

Al Sissi stressed Egypt’s keenness to continue developing bilateral relations and coordination between the two countries at all levels on various regional and international issues. He stressed that the security of the Gulf States is an integral part of Egypt’s national security.

Shaikh Mohammad and Al Sissi discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, the latest developments in the Middle East region and the efforts being exerted to reach political settlements. The two sides stressed the need to preserve the unity and sovereignty of countries that are experiencing crises, to preserve the capabilities of their peoples, and to enable their national institutions to fulfil their responsibilities in maintaining security and combating terrorism.

The two sides also discussed developments related to combating terrorism and extremism, emphasising the importance of all Arab countries concerting their efforts along with the international community in tackling this scourge at all levels, especially with regard to eliminating the financing of terrorist groups and blocking their supply of weapons and followers.

They also underlined the need to face the matter of interventions in Arab countries’ affairs, and to intensify efforts to achieve the interests of the Arab peoples.
