Canberra: Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, on Thursday met with a number of Australian officials as part of his official visit to the country.
Shaikh Abdullah was received by Peter Cosgrove, Governor-General of Australia, and the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and strengthen frameworks of cooperation in various fields. The meeting also touched on the latest developments in the region and reviewed a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
Shaikh Abdullah was then received by Malcolm Turnbull, Australian Prime Minister. They discussed ways of enhancing and developing friendly relations and joint cooperation between the UAE and Australia in various fields including investment, trade, economic, industrial and security. The parties also discussed the latest developments in the region and exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
Shaikh Abdullah then met with Julie Bishop, Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Concetta Fierravanti-Wells, Australian Minister for International Development and the Pacific.
During the meetings, they discussed bilateral relations and ways of boosting and developing them.
Shaikh Abdullah also reviewed with the two ministers ways to enhance mutual cooperation across various fields, including economy, investment, trade, energy, renewable energy and development.
Shaikh Abdullah was then received by Marise Payne, Australia’s Minister for Defence, and Christopher Pyne, Australia’s Minister for Defence Industry. They discussed ways to further develop friendly relations and joint cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of military security and defence.
The two sides also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, including the efforts of the international community to combat terrorism.
Shaikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE’s desire to promote and develop joint cooperation relations with Australia in all fields to reflect the strong and distinguished relations between the two countries.
Shaikh Abdullah also met with Peter Dutton, Australian Minister for Home Affairs, and Christian Porter, Australian Attorney-General. During the meetings, the two sides reviewed avenues of cooperation and friendship between their countries and means of developing them in the interest of both countries and peoples.
The ministers also discussed a number of current regional and international developments and issues of common concern.
