Dubai: A motorist sustained serious injuries after he lost control of his vehicle, which burst into flames after crashing into a road barrier on Emirates Road on Monday, according to Dubai Police.
Brigadier Saeed Hamad Bin Sulaiman, director of Al Rashidiya police station, said that the incident happened at 1:30pm after the Al Khawaneej exit.
“The Emirati driver was on the left lane of the road when he lost control of the wheel and hit the road barrier," Brigadier Bin Sulaiman said.
The Mercedes car caught fire after the crash. The driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to Rashid Hospital for treatment.
Police said an investigation is ongoing.
