Ajman: Ajman Police arrested 454 wanted suspects last year and handing them over to the authorities concerned in the country and abroad. This also include four foreign fugitive who were wanted by Interpol in murder cases.

Major General Shaikh Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, told Gulf News that four Asian men wanted by Interpol for committing murders in their home countries were arrested in Ajman last year.

All the 454 wanted suspects were arrested by “Aman” security patrol officers during 2017. As many as 450 wanted suspects of different nationalities were handed over to security departments within the UAE.

Maj Gen Al Nuaimi said Ajman Police would double the number of “Aman patrols” by September to reach 20 patrols in each shifts in order to enhance security in the emirate. Currently, there are 10 Aman Patrols in each shift deployed in residential areas.

Ajman Police on May 2017 launched 30 new security patrols equipped with advanced technology to ensure safety on roads and security in residential areas.

Major General Al Nuaimi said Ajman Police employed 60 new police officers who are working in 30 new security patrols “Aman”.

The new officer attended specialised training courses to combat crime and learn about securing the crime scene.
