The overall performance of the pupils in Grade 12 of the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) has been far better than the previous years. This was the general opinion of principals whose students appeared in the exams. According to them the grading system introduced by the CBSE has enabled more pupils to be placed in the first division.

Ashok Kumar, Principal of the Indian High School, said it sent a large number of pupils for the examinations this year.

"A large number of pupils are placed in the first division. The students have performed better than last year. Indian High School has created a record. We are moving towards the grading system, which has allowed us to put a wide spectrum of grades in different subjects. At the Indian High School, we have a large number of pupils placed in A grade.

"The grade system will assist pupils to get admission in universities easily. It is beneficial for the pupils. Moreover, pupils from the Gulf countries tend to move to the Western countries to pursue higher studies. Thus we should keep in mind that this system is accepted there," he said.
