Gulf schools recorded a 2.5 per cent increase in Grade 12 results held under the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) of India.

Girls have continued their domination of boys in securing the top ranks once again.

But, Madhav Rao, the chairman of the CBSE Gulf schools and principal of Our Own English High School, Dubai, said compared to last year the total aggregate has come down to two to three per cent in the UAE.

"The results indicate that the performance in subjects like physics and home science have come down," he added.

The students of Our Own English High School, Dubai, have secured top honours in science, commerce and humanities streams among schools in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The school fielded 356 students, 154 boys and 202 girls and recorded an impressive 100 per cent pass with 57 per cent of students scoring A grades.

Arundhati K. Venkatasubramanium was top at the school in the science stream with 92 per cent, followed by Nandita Prabhu with 91.6 per cent.

Aditya Vikram Sharma topped the commerce stream in the UAE with 89 per cent, followed by Geetika Darshan Chappar and Divya Phulwani with 88.8 per cent.

Franco Cleo topped the humanities stream in the UAE with 87 per cent, followed by Suneeta Thomas who scored 86.4 per cent.

Gulf Indian High School, Dubai
Manju Varghese has topped the list among girls in the science stream followed by Asma Mahmuda and Simsie K Varghese. Among commerce stream students, Aliya Naemah earned the first rank followed by Tejinder Kaur and Sindhu Ashokan.

In the science stream, boys section, Mohammed Imran Mohammed Zubair Shaikh earned the first position while Mohammed Farhan and Shoiab Nazir stood second and third, respectively.

In the commerce stream, Anwar Hussain and Ebrahim Haroon tied for first, followed by Biju Das and Ali bin Ahmed Amodi.

The Central School, Dubai
Satish Kumar Menon (80 per cent), Mouiza Ambreen (75.2 per cent) and Sanobar Shaikh Inrahim (74.4 per cent) took the top ranks in science stream.

In the commerce stream, Usman Sain Noor (74.8 per cent), Safiya Sheikh Ali (72.2 per cent) and Ayesha Begum (71.6 per cent) secured the top positions.

New Indian Model School, Dubai
Twenty-one students appeared in the science stream. Shimna Vinod Kumar (73.6 per cent), Amritha Premasuthan (73.2 per cent) and Zeba Naseem (72.4 per cent) took the ranks.

In commerce stream Tasneen Husain (80.4 per cent), Mohammed Hazeen Abdul Jaleel (79.4 per cent) and Naziha Muzammil (78.8 per cent) secured the top ranks.

Indian High School, Dubai
As many as 408 students appeared for the exam.

Aditya Kumar topped the science group with 91 per cent marks followed by Gokul Madhavan with 90 per cent and Bharadwaj Ravi with 89.6 per cent.

Kunal Mahesh was tops in the commerce stream with 89 per cent followed by Alok Sunil Gandhi with 88 per cent and Joanne Brigit Vaz with 86.8 per cent. Number one in the arts stream is Puja Haresh Lalwani with 84 per cent followed by Devina rajiv Divecha with 82.2 per cent and Amrita Ashok with 82 per cent.

Emirates English Speaking School, Dubai
Dheeraj Ramchandani was tops with 84 per cent while Arun Prem is second with 80 per cent in the commerce stream.

Janoo Chugani is tops in the science stream with 80 per cent followed by Shujuddin Ahmed with 71 per cent.

Indian School, Al Ain
In the science stream 43 students appeared, out of which 13 earned distinction. In the commerce stream 24 students appeared, out of which six earned distinction.

In the science stream, Chithra Sugathan Sheela stands first with 90.20 per cent, Vipin Janardhanan stands second with 84.60 per cent and Maya Philip Thomas stands third with 82.60 per cent.

In the commerce stream, Anju Kishore Asarpota stands first with 86.2 per cent, Sooraj Sugathan stands second with 81.40 per cent and Kamiya Hiranand Badlani stands third with 79.60 per cent.

Our Own English High School, Al Ain
The school has exceeded its own expectations once again with 100 per cent pass results.
Elizabeth John stands first in the school and second in Al Ain, scoring an overall aggregate of 90 per cent.

Aysha Syed stands second with an overall aggregate of 89.8 per cent. Shaima Salamat stands first in the commerce stream with an aggregate of 77 per cent and tops in business studies.

Darul Huda Islamic School, Al Ain
Ajuna Azad was tops the science stream with 80.4 per cent. Farzana Nasrin topped the commerce stream among girls with 84.4 per cent.


Indian School, Abu Dhabi
A total 244 students appeared for the examinations and the school obtained a pass per centage of 99.2 per cent.

In the science stream, the top three positions went to Bhavana Taro Tourani (93.6 per cent), Shan Abraham (92.2 per cent) and Simi Sunny (91.2 per cent).

In the commerce stream, Ramya Balasubramanian (88.2 per cent), Shobna (87.2 per cent) and Sharaon Catelino (86 per cent) took the top three positions.

In the arts, Swati Sharma secured 80 per cent followed by Pramitha Jeslin D'Souza and Divya Shyam Menon.

Indian Islahi Islamic School, Abu Dhabi
In the science stream, Renish Mohamed Ashraf was top. In the commerce stream, Sithy Rukshana stood first followed by Princy Thomas and Jamila Farveen.

St. Joseph School, Abu Dhabi
A total of 31 students from the science stream appeared for the examination.

Rank holders in the science stream are Asha M. Pillai (89 per cent), Chippy S. Mohanan (87.4 per cent) and Ayswarya Ramachandaran (84 per cent).

In the commerce stream, the ranks were Krystal Abigail Pereira (84 per cent) Ferlyne Joan Pinto (82.2 per cent) and Flancie C. Fernandes (79.4 per cent).

Sunrise English Private School, Abu Dhabi
Sixty-eight students appeared for the exams. In the science stream, ranks are for Nihal Majeed (89 per cent), Meenu Chacko, (82 per cent) and Biji Cheriyan Mathew.

In the commerce stream, Pooja Mithran (84.2 per cent), Bindhu Mary Oommen (82 per cent) and Tilda Mary Daniel (80 per cent) secured the ranks.

Sharjah Indian School
In the science stream, Sneha Dey Subramanian with 91 per cent stood first, Shakaka Prakash Walambe and Samyukta Subash Shenoy with 90. 8 per cent stood second and Nishkumari with 89.6 per cent was third.

In the commerce stream, Reya Sebastian Adukanil (87.4 per cent), Ramya Sundararajan (83.2 per cent) and Dhanya Venugopal Menon (80.4 per cent) secured the top positions among girls.

Among boys in the commerce stream, Ashwin Unni (87.2 per cent), Rajeev G. Nair (86.8 per cent) and Kevin Alexander (86 per cent) took the top spots.

Our Own English High School, Sharjah
Seventy-five per cent of the girls in the science stream secured distinction. A total of 99 per cent of the girls earned first class. Number one in the stream are Rhythm Bhalla and Subin Thomas Mathew with 89 per cent each, closely followed by Ruby Stanley with 88.4 per cent and Deepti Sarah Alex wi
