Ajman: An Arab man drowned after being swept away by waves, while two children were rescued in separate incidents at Ajman beach, according to a report.

A source in the Ajman Civil Defence said that maritime rescue teams received calls about three people in danger of drowning at sea, the Al Ittihad newspaper reported on Sunday.

Rescuers said the children, aged 12 and 14, were taken to Khalifa Hospital for treatment.

The adult victim, however, was already dead when the rescue teams arrived.

The maritime rescue team urged beachgoers to exercise caution when swimming due to strong currents and high tides caused by unstable weather conditions in the country.
