The Sharjah Juvenile Court recently reprimanded two teenage boys for molesting two Filipino women
Sharjah: The Sharjah Juvenile Court recently reprimanded two teenage boys for molesting two Filipino women and asked their parents to discipline them.
The court ruling was handed down after the two women dropped their right of claims against the two pupils who were trying to kiss them.
The two Iraqi boys, aged 17 and 14, and the Filipino women, are living in the same building in Al Buhaira.
The boys were accused of trying to molest the women in the lift at night.
The women told the court that the boys also followed them to their apartment and tried to enter by force.
The women said the boys touched them and kissed one of them inside the lift, and also offered money to sleep with them.
The women told the court once inside their house they immediately informed Al Buhaira police station who were able to identify the boys from the building's security cameras.
The boys told the court that they were only joking with the women and that they did not mean to molest them.
The lawyers for the boys urged the court to show leniency as they are pupils who are well behaved in their school.
Under UAE Federal law, the boys are guilty of the crime of molestation but the court took the boys' ages into consideration. The court also considered that they were pupils and that the women had pardoned them.
The court reprimanded the boys and urged them to behave well and to avoid such behaviour in the future.
