Manama: Police in Saudi Arabia have arrested five people in connection with the rape of a three-year-old girl. The suspects, three men and two women, were apprehended in the Red Sea city of Jeddah, the police spokesman for the local police, Nawaf Al Bouq, said.
The case has been referred to the investigation commission and to the public prosecution, he said, local Arabic daily Okaz reported.
A private hospital had alerted the police about finding the girl in front of the front gate. The victim had bruises and bore traces of violence on her body and was bleeding in the vagina, the daily said. Her clothes were torn. The police launched a wide manhunt and were able to arrest the suspects who were remanded in custody pending the investigation.
Mohammad Ali, the hospital manager, told the daily that they received the girl at around 10pm on September 13 after she was found in front of the main gate. He added that she was suffering from physical violence and bleeding that indicated that she had been abused. “She has been in coma since then,” he said.
An eyewitness, Abdullah Mohammad Nasser, said that he was at the hospital that day and he saw a car dump the girl at the front gate before speeding away. The victim was screaming from the pain and then lapsed into a coma, he said.
This is really very very painful ...The accused should think beforedoing this type of havoc acts on a very small child and that too twowomen are also involved that raises doubts on credibility of women aswell. May Allah recover baby girl as soon as possible and give hardestpunishment to those accused.
