Manama: Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development has announced a social media competition that allows winners to fly with the FC Barcelona (FCB) team and watch their crucial match against Bayern Munich.

“Beginning Monday at noon Doha time (9am GMT) Qatar Foundation is inviting the global community to enter its Passion Drives Our World contest to fly to Barcelona, travel with the FCB team to Germany, and watch the Champions League semi-final first leg tie live at the Allianz Arena,” the foundation said.

“To enter the social media competition, simply take a photograph of yourself standing in front of a well-known landmark holding a Qatar Foundation – FCB ‘Passion Drives Us All’ banner, which can be downloaded and printed out from qf-fcb.com,” it said.

The competition, to celebrate the partnership between the foundation and the FC Barcelona, will run for 60 hours, closing at midnight (9pm GMT) on Wednesday. The winner will be selected at random through a prize draw and will be able to nominate a friend or relative so that they can take this once-in-a-lifetime journey together, the Foundation told Gulf News.

A Qatar Foundation-branded FCB shirt will be offered to the competition entrant who lives furthest from Doha.

“At Qatar Foundation we are committed to the mission we share with FC Barcelona of unlocking the human potential of people all over the world,” Rashed Al Qurese, Qatar Foundation’s Deputy Director of Communication, said. “This is a wonderful opportunity for our international community to come together and demonstrate that Passion Drives Us All. Whether you live in Qatar or in Canberra, the competition is open to all, and we welcome entrants from far and wide, as well as from the local community.”
