Abu Dhabi: Two Emiratis, a man and a woman, from Abu Dhabi were killed in a road crash in Oman’s Salalah town on Saturday, hospital sources in Al Buraimi said.
The bodies have been transferred to Al Ain and Omani authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
The 1,300-km stretch of road from Dubai to Salalah, the resort town in Oman, has seen many fatal crashes.
Seven members of Al Ain’s Al Kaabi family were killed in a road crash on the Dubai-Salalah highway in August 2012. Retired army general Saif Abdullah Al Kaabi, 57, his two sons and four daughters were killed in the incident.
Thousands of tourists from the UAE travel to Salalah by road to enjoy the scenery.
