Muscat: Military cooperation between Oman and the United States was among items on the agenda during the visit of General Lloyd J. Austin III, Commander of the US Central Command, who also called on Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed at Bait Al Barakah on Sunday.

When the Omani leader received the visiting US army commander, the two discussed aspects of co-operation between the two countries and issues of mutual concern. Lieutenant General Ahmad Bin Harith Al Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), Greta Holtz, the US Ambassador to Oman, and the delegation accompanying the guest were also present during the meeting.

Sayyid Badr Bin Saud Al Bu Saidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, also received General Austin III in his office at Bait Al Falaj yesterday. The meeting reviewed the existing military co-operation between the two friendly countries and discussed issues of common concern.
