Kuwait: The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has announced that a fire described as “limited” which broke out early Tuesday at Mina Al Ahmadi refinery has been extinguished.

Mohammad Al Ajmi, Director of Public Relations and Media, said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the fire team of the refinery was able to control the fire and extinguish it within 20 minutes after activation of the emergency response plan at the refinery.

Al Ajmi reported no casualties and no damage or halt to the import and export of Mina Al Ahmadi refinery’s production.

The KNPC was established in October 1960. It is owned by the Kuwaiti government as well as private sector entities, and is tasked with oil refining, gas liquefaction, and distribution of petroleum goods in the country.
