Dubai: King Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa on Sunday issued two decrees to re-organise the Ministry of Interior and to appoint new officers.

Under Decree Number 1 for 2018, King Hamad amended provisions of Law 69 for 2004 to set up a general directorate for the security of the Royal Court.

The new general directorate will have two departments that the Minister of Interior will name.

The decree by King Hamad also set up the General Directorate for Media and Security Culture.

The new directorate will include three departments: A department for security media, one for security culture and one for a police museum.

According to the decree, the new provisions will come into force one day after they are published in the Official Gazette.

In Decree 2 for 2018, King Hamad appointed Major General Shaikh Khalifa Ahmad Al Khalifa as the Deputy Inspector General with the rank of Director General, Major General Abdullah Mohammad Al Zayed as the Deputy President of Public Security with the rank of Director General, Brigadier Ali Mohammad Al Khalifa as Assistant to the President of Public Security for Community Affairs with the rank of Director General, Brigadier Mohammad Bin Mohammad Bin Dainah as General Director for Media and Security Culture, Brigadier Waheed Jumaa Al Doy as General Director of Guards, Brigadier Jabr Sultan Ahmad Al Suwaidi as General Director for Royal Security Guards, Brigadier Hamad Ali Al Marri as General Director for the Southern Governorate Police and Brigadier Abdul Salam Yousuf Al Araifi as General Director of Reformation and Rehabilitation.
