Eligibility requirements and necessary documents to claim ILOE insurance in the UAE.
Dubai: The Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) Insurance Scheme in the UAE provides financial support to employees in the private sector and federal government who lose their jobs due to termination not resignation.
This scheme offers temporary income to help you while you look for new employment. However, to successfully claim these benefits, you must carefully meet all the specified eligibility requirements.
Launched as part of the UAE’s social protection initiatives, the ILOE insurance scheme provides eligible employees with monthly compensation for up to three months after involuntary job loss. The scheme is designed to:

Attract and retain global talent in the UAE workforce
The payout depends on your salary bracket and is calculated as 60 per cent of your average monthly basic salary over the last 12 months before job loss. It is subject to the following caps based on your subscription category:
Category A: For employees with a basic salary of Dh16,000 or less
Maximum monthly compensation: Dh10,000
Category B: For employees with a basic salary of above Dh16,000
Maximum monthly compensation: Dh20,000
Compensation is paid for up to three months, or until you find another job or leave the country - whichever comes first.
1. Minimum subscription period of 12 consecutive months
You must have been subscribed to the unemployment insurance scheme continuously for at least twelve (12) consecutive months before the job loss.
2. Timely payment
All your insurance premiums must be paid fully and on time, as per the payment schedule you agreed upon. missing premium payments or delayed contributions can disqualify your claim.
3. Unemployment must be involuntary
Your unemployment must result from termination by the employer or a job loss that was not your choice.
4. No dismissal for disciplinary reasons
If you were terminated for disciplinary reasons, such as violations of workplace policies or misconduct, you will not be eligible to claim the iloe benefit.
5. Submit your claim within 30 days
You must file your claim within thirty (30) days from the date your employment contract ended or from the settlement of any related labour complaint adjudicated by the court.
6. No abscondment complaints
Your claim will be rejected if there is an active abscondment complaint against you by any employer or relevant authority.
7. No fraudulent claims
The claim must be genuine and not made through fraud or deception. also, the company you claim to have worked for must be a registered, real business entity
8. Job loss not due to labour strikes or stoppages
If your job loss was the result of non-peaceful labour strikes or work stoppage - you are not eligible for compensation under the scheme.
9. Legal residency status
You must be legally present in the UAE at the time of submitting the claim. Illegal or expired residency status disqualifies applicants from receiving benefits.
You will need the following documents to submit your claim:
Signed work permit cancellation
Employment contract
Termination letter
Copy of Emirates ID
IBAN certificate from your bank
To apply for compensation, you must submit a claim online through the official website: www.iloe.ae. Click on the ‘Submit your claim’ button on the homepage and complete the application form.
You can choose to receive the compensation:
Through bank transfer, or
In cash via Al Ansari Exchange, if you paid premiums at the exchange.
According to the MOHRE, once your claim is approved, payment must be made within 14 days of submission.
