Dubai: Tram commuters in Dubai encountered delays on Wednesday morning after the transportation link serving Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah areas was suspended due to a vehicle collision.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai confirmed that the Tram service between the two areas was suspended momentarily after a vehicle crashed into the side of a tram’s coach.
The transport authority, however, assured that buses were deployed to help stranded commuters and that a technical team was on site to remove the vehicle and restore tram services as soon as possible.
The incident was first reported at past 9am and about an hour later, the RTA confirmed that the Dubai Tram service has been restored.
“The RTA is deploying public buses to commute tram riders between the stations impacted by the service disruption,” the RTA said on Twitter.
