CUA joining a high-level delegation to China
As part of the official visit to the People’s Republic of China under the theme Invest UAE, Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council, led a series of strategic engagements aimed at strengthening cooperation between the Emirate of Ajman and China.
In alignment with this visionary initiative, City University Ajman (CUA) was honored to be part of the high-level delegation and took significant steps in expanding its international academic presence, further reinforcing its role in fostering global knowledge partnerships.
During the delegation’s visit to Chongqing, Imran Khan, President of City University Ajman, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Professor Wang Jinjun, President of Southwest University. The agreement focuses on joint research, academic exchange, and collaborative initiatives designed to foster innovation and mutual development between the two institutions.
Continuing its strategic academic outreach, City University Ajman signed a second MoU with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in Chengdu. The ceremony was attended by Hussain Bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to the People's Republic of China, and Professor Cao Ping, Chairperson of UESTC.
The agreement was officially signed by Imran Khan, President of CUA, and Professor Luo Guangchun, Vice President of UESTC. This collaboration paves the way for joint research projects, faculty exchange programs, and global learning opportunities, reinforcing CUA’s dedication to internationalization and academic excellence.
Additionally, Khan, accompanied by representatives from the UAE Embassy in China, also visited Sichuan University. He was welcomed by Professor Chu Liangyin, Executive Vice President, and members of the senior leadership team.
The discussions centered around exploring opportunities for academic cooperation. The visit also included a tour of the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Polymer Materials, a leading research facility focused on cutting-edge polymer technologies with wide-ranging industrial and scientific applications.
During the visit, the CUA delegation joined the UAE Ambassador in China and toured a leading incubator and Hi-Tech city. These engagements focused on exploring opportunities for industry-academia collaboration, innovation exchange, and future partnerships that align with CUA’s commitment to applied research and entrepreneurial development.
These strategic engagements reflect City University Ajman’s unwavering commitment to global academic excellence and its proactive role in advancing Ajman Vision 2030, which aspires to position the Emirate of Ajman as a regional hub for education, research, and sustainable development.
By aligning with some of China’s most prestigious institutions, CUA is not only expanding its global engagement footprint but also contributing to the UAE’s broader efforts to advance international collaboration in education, research, and innovation.
