Dubai: McLaren’s latest supercar introductions - Elva and 765LT - had a bit of airing about in Dubai, with the first deliveries scheduled during the first-half of next year.

Built around a 4,0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, the Elva two-seater is the lightest road car from McLaren. It can reach all the way up to 200 km/h in a show-stopping 7 seconds. The 815-hp and 800-Nm delivers all the right notes for the limited edition model with a price point of $1.78 million and upwards.

“We continue to push the boundaries of supercar development in pursuit of unparalleled driving experiences,” said Brett Soso, Managing Director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa operations.

And then comes a ‘Longtail’

The 765LT is the latest iteration of the British manufacturer’s Longtail series, and works up the 0-100 km/h stint in 2.8 seconds. There will only be 765 of these made, with interested buyers having to fork out Dh1.5 million and plus to get behind the wheels.

And do keep the ears primed for the sound - this is how McLaren says it: “The intense emotional connection is further heightened by the visceral soundtrack from the full titanium quad-exit exhaust…”.

The 4,0-litre twin-turbocharge V8 sure knows how to get noticed.
