Abu Dhabi: Abdulhamid Saeed has been appointed the new UAE Central Bank governor, according to the government communication office via a Twitter post. Saeed replaces Mubarak Rashid Al Mansouri who has been at the helm of the institution since 2014.

The change comes at a time when the Central Bank had announced a Dh100 billion economic stimulus package to counter the worst effects of the COVID-19 outbreak on the UAE economy.
