Totem Automobili is taking a classic Sixties Alfa Romeo GT Junior 1300 and giving it an electric powertrain that makes a healthy 518 horsepower and a whopping 940Nm of torque. This will allow the coupe to hit 100kph from rest in 3.4 seconds...

It has a single electric motor driving the rear wheels powered by a 50.4 kWh battery pack which weighs 350kg and can provide around 320km of driving range.

Not only will Totem convert it into an EV, but it will to completely reengineer most of it too and will only use a fraction of the car’s original structure...

They will give it a MacPherson front suspension and multilink rear (complete with Bilstein shocks and springs) to improve its stiffness and handling.

They will make all new lightweight body panels out of carbon fibre and may even leave it bare in order to see its weave pattern...

And they will slightly alter the Alfa's original design with the bonnet sitting flush with the body, instead of having a slight lip above the front end and rather than just two, headlights, there are smaller lamps below them. Also, the Alfa Romeo shield in the grille is now open in the centre, whereas the original has bars through it.

Last but not least, Totem will build forged 17in wheels with circular openings in the style of the GTAm race car while the interior will feature hand-stitched Nappa leather. It will also come stocked with a vintage-styled 3.5in infotainment system and fully digital dials.
