Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Emirates NBD, the largest bank in Dubai, and Visa International yesterday launched a co-branded credit card that combines features of a Visa Credit card and RTA Nol card, which is used for public transport travel in Dubai.

The new ‘Go4it' credit card comes with Nol transit application, used for making payments on the RTA transit network and at parking meters. The credit card is linked to Nol and Salik accounts and can be configured to automatically top up these accounts when the funds fall below certain levels.

"The multi-functional co-branded Go4it card is in line with our joint focus on customer convenience, and has been specially designed to incorporate a variety of benefits and advantages, while meeting the needs of regular users of Dubai's public transport systems," said Rick Pudner, Chief Executive Officer, Emirates NBD.

The card comes in gold and platinum categories and carries annual fees of Dh99 and Dh199 respectively.

Apart from the payment convenience, the card offers a host of benefits, including discounts at leading retail outlets across the country. These include a rewards programme that enables earning five times the normal rewards on weekend spend on the credit card, value offers on movie tickets at VOX cinemas, discounts at over 500 restaurants and an exclusive package of 120 "Buy One Get One Free" lifestyle offers from reputed establishments.

Currently the new credit card is one of its kind and is part of an exclusive agreement among Emirates NBD, RTA and Visa.

Convenience

"This innovative product is an excellent example of cross-industry collaboration, offering consumers increased convenience and rewards through one card to meet their daily commuting and spending needs," said Abdulla Al Madani, Corporate Technical Support Services CEO, RTA. The new card is the result of technical integration of functionalities of a credit card and a transit payment solutions.

"Visa has worked closely with Emirates NBD and RTA to introduce this payment solution for RTA's customers while enhancing the convenience of Emirates NBD customers," said Kamran Seddiqi, General Manager for Visa Middle East.

The new credit card comes with complimentary life insurance cover of up to Dh100,000 and a complimentary travel accident and inconvenience insurance up to Dh1 million. There are 500 restaurants where Go4it cardholders get discounts.
