Dubai: Dubai carrier flydubai announced Monday that it plans to resume daytime operations to Jordan and Lebanon tomorrow (Tuesday, June 17).

In a statement shared with Gulf News, the airline said, “We are also closely monitoring the situation in Jordan and Lebanon, and flights to these destinations will resume as daytime operations from June 17.”

However, flydubai flights to Iran, Iraq, Israel and Syria will remain suspended until June 20. Flights to Minsk and St. Petersburg will also remain suspended until June 17.

flydubai's flight schedule continues to experience significant disruptions due to the ongoing regional situation, the airline said. Passengers are advised to check their flight status regularly as cancellations, rerouting, and delays persist.

A flydubai spokesperson said “Our flight schedule continues to be impacted by the ongoing situation in the region, resulting in flight cancellations, rerouting and delays due to congestion in air corridors.”

Weekend of disruptions

The disruptions follow a weekend marked by heightened geopolitical tensions across the Middle East. While details from the weekend are still emerging, reports indicated increased military activity and airspace restrictions in several countries, significantly impacting commercial aviation routes.

Many airlines, including flydubai, Emirates, Etihad, Air Arabia, and Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, adjusted their operations to ensure passenger and crew safety.

“We have reinstated flights across our network where conditions permit and we continue to monitor and review our operations as the situation evolves. We apologise for the inconvenience caused to our passengers and appreciate their understanding during this time. The safety of our passengers and crew remains our highest priority,” the airline said.

Passengers are also urged to update their contact details via the “manage your booking” section on flydubai.com and to frequently check the airline's website for the latest flight status information.
